EXCLUSIVE NZ WINE SOCIETY RIESLING AWARDED BEST RIESLING AT AIR NZ WINE AWARDS

A Central Otago Riesling, exclusive to the New Zealand Wine Society, has won the top Riesling Trophy at the 2012 Air New Zealand Wine Awards, New Zealand’s premier wine competition, organised by New Zealand Winegrowers.

At the award ceremony in Wellington on Saturday November 24, Aspiring Flats Central Otago Bendigo Riesling 2012 was awarded Elite Pure Gold, the show’s highest Gold medal level. It also scooped the show’s Plant & Food Research Champion Riesling Trophy, in recognition that it achieved top of its class above all other rieslings.

Made by the Aurora Vineyard, Aspiring Flats Bendigo Riesling 2012 is a wine of scintillating clarity, with a delicately fragrant bouquet of white peach, lemon pith and floral notes.
