Nelson International Aromatics Symposium 2013

The Nelson International Aromatics Symposium will be held in the heart of Nelson’s wine growing region, in the picturesque village of Upper Moutere. Flowing on from Pinot Noir 2013 in Wellington, the Symposium once again promises to be a truly memorable event. Great wines, huge experience, stimulating discussion.

Themes of the event will be:

  • New Zealand Riesling – the decade in review
  • Review of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner with an Austrian focus

The event begins at midday on Friday 1st Feb 2012 – this allows delegates to travel to Nelson from Wellington on Friday morning and there will be a bus meeting people at the airport to take them to the symposium which is being held in the Moutere Hills in the heart of the wine country.

On Friday afternoon, the focus will be on Grüner Veltliner wines from Austria and New Zealand. The keynote speaker is Markus Huber from Austria.

On Saturday morning the focus will be on Riesling wines from Austria, New Zealand and Nelson. It will include a tasting of aged and current vintage Rieslings from Nelson.

There will be a picnic dinner on the Friday evening at Neudorf Vineyard – accompanied by the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra. It will be a great deal of fun!
