Nelson’s iconic wine shop – Casa del Vino – has new owners and a new fresh look. After an intense period of remodeling, the well known source for specialty wines in 214 Hardy Street will re-open on 18 November.

Juliane & Glenn Cormier bought Casa del Vino in August and immediately began planning their make-over of the shop which originally opened in 2000.

Juliane has worked part-time in the shop since 2014, and saw the potential of expanding and freshening its look.

“We are very excited about our new venture, and look forward to welcoming our loyal, as well as new customers.  We have added a Tasting bar where you can purchase a taste or a glass of the rotating wines on offer. We will also host special tastings and private events throughout the year,” says Juliane Cormier.

Wine has been Juliane’s passion and livelihood for many years. She began her vinous journey living and tasting in Burgundy, France, and continued working for Napa & Sonoma wineries in the USA until she and her husband Glenn moved to New Zealand in 2009.
