Pinot Noir For Every Occasion
The team at Sacred Hill have you covered with their latest vintage of Pinot Noir. So good were the 2015 and 2016 summers in Marlborough, that their winemakers have crafted an Orange Label Pinot Noir and a Halo Pinot Noir that are exceptional quality wines at an impressive price.
As we welcome in autumn and the cooler months fast approach, people often turn to a delicious red wine. But a lot of people are hesitant to branch out and try new wines. The winemakers at Sacred Hill think you can put too many rules around wine, and their motto is if you love it, drink it!
If Pinot Noir is your go to red wine, then you’re not alone, this red wine varietal makes up 15% of New Zealand’s wine production, making it the country’s second most produced wine after Sauvignon Blanc*. If not, then the Orange Label Pinot Noir is the perfect introduction to this old-world wine style. It goes beautifully with mushrooms, lamb and beef. The Halo Pinot Noir, is richly textured and crafted to bring premium wine into every day enjoyment.
Sacred Hill has four distinct ranges of wine covering a wide spectrum of style and price, so that you have the perfect bottle for every occasion. To make sure you have the perfect wine no matter the reason the delicious Sacred Hill Pinot Noir duo mustn’t be overlooked.
For the casual glass of wine, try:
2016 Sacred Hill Orange Label Marlborough Pinot Noir. RRP $19.95
Sacred Hill’s Orange Label range consists of tempting quality wines that are great to share with friends, family and food. These wines provide great value for their exceptional price and set an extremely high precedent for the rest of the Sacred Hill range.
The Orange Label 2016 Pinot Noir has lifted aromas of strawberry compote, dark cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg and a gentle hint of fresh mushroom. Overall, the wine has a beautiful, sweet, fruity taste on the palate wrapped in velvet textured tannins.
For something a little bit special:
2015 Sacred Hill Halo Marlborough Pinot Noir. RRP $27.99
Sacred Hill’s Halo range offers a step into some of its more premium wines. These richly textured wines come from small parcel selections from Sacred Hill’s best vineyards, providing fruit forward, fresh New Zealand styles with a light touch of old world, hand crafted technique to create texture and depth.
The Halo Pinot Noir 2015 was harvested early thanks to record heat in the 2015 summer, providing excellent ripening conditions. The result: a pinot noir with a dark plum colour and lifted aromas of sweet dried herbs, vanilla, dark cherry and Christmas cake complexity.
Food match: Both Pinot Noirs will be paired best with lamb or beef dishes. In the early autumn pair these with a barbecued rack of lamb or beef salad.
Available from selected wine stores, supermarkets and Quench Collective.
