Kerr Farm Vineyard is one of the closest Vineyards to Auckland. They produce boutique, estate grown wines; Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinotage, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. They are proud that their Sauvignon Blanc is one of the very few grown in Auckland, and like their other estate grown wines is crafted by their winemaker to enhance the unique characters of the Kumeu heritage grape growing region.
Research by the wine writers Sue Courtney of Wine of the Week.com and Peter May of the worldwide Pinotage Club indicates that their Pinotage vines are some of the oldest in New Zealand. Kerr Farm make their wines only from Estate grown grapes and although not completely organic they do nurture their vines within the principles of organics and the Sustainable Wine New Zealand group guidelines.
“Sunshine and gentle breezes on a softly rolling landscape” add to their success in achieving the varietal fruit driven flavours and characters in their selective wine production. To visit Kerr Farm, find out more about them and purchase their wine, click the banner above.
