Shaky Bridge Wines are created from some of the oldest vines planted in Central Otago. It was founded in 1973 by Bill and Gill Grant who first planted vines on the Home Block ‘to see what might happen’. There weren’t too many believers in Central Otago Wine Production back in the ’70’s but Bill and Gill’s persistence led to the first commercial wine production from the Alexandra Sub-Region more than 20 years ago.
Shaky Bridge still use the original Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer vines planted in the 70’s and have since added Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris to their production. They have expanded their vineyard holdings to now include the Home Block, The Pioneer Vineyard, The Airport Block, The Shaky Bridge and Fan blocks and manage and source fruit from over 100 acres of Estate managed vineyards in the Alexandra basin.
The team at Shaky Bridge Wines are all committed to bringing you fantastic wines at affordable prices and giving you a wine experience that will really move you! Oh…and they like to have A LOT of fun while they do it!! Visit them and try their wines…
