Pask Winery Consolidation

Media release for immediate release 05 February 2014

Pask Winery has sold 25 hectares of their Gimblett Road vineyards to Villa Maria Estate, along with 16 hectares of lease vineyard. This completes the winery’s consolidation of recent times.

Over the last three years, Pask Winery has developed their winery property to include temperature controlled warehousing and barrel storage, a new bottling line and associated facilities, along with the latest technology in grape harvesting. Kate Radburnd, Managing Director says this vineyard sale is the last stage of the comprehensive consolidation of the company.

The winery now owns 59 hectares in the Gimblett Gravels Winegrowing District, of which 7 hectares requires development, which will be undertaken this year. The production from this 59 hectares is still in excess of the Winery’s requirements, allowing room for growth.

Chris Pask pioneered grape plantings at Gimblett Road in 1981 an area which has been described by James Halliday as “Not just a very special parcel, it is a sacred site”.
