Petane Station & Dirtoir Present: 2016 Gewurtztraminer Rose.
Dirtoir is proud to present, under their own label their first collaboration wine.
Philip and Sarah @ Petane Station are very good friends and their wines are amazing: their 2015 Pinot Gris has won just about every award a Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris can win.
The wine itself is extended skin contact Gewurztraminer with a splash of syrah. It is dry, spicy and intense.
Notes: “This unique wine was dreamed up one midsummer’s evening between two wine friends – Philip Barber from Petane Station and Jules van Costello from Dirtoir. The result is this delightful spicy rosé, made from a combination of gewürztraminer that has undergone extended skin contact to extract more colour and flavour and finished with a splash of syrah. With hand picked grapes from Petane Station’s Bellbird block, gentle basket pressing has teased out a big hit of orange peel on the nose, ginger spice and jasmine in the background and strawberries and cream on the palate.”
The wine is just about to be bottled and they are going to be releasing it formally in 20 days, on December 1st so are running these offers right up until the 30th. It is going to retail for $30 a bottle and they are offering it at special prices:
