Rockburn Opens Permanent Cellar Door At Gibbston Tavern


After a successful summer season, Rockburn Wines turns its Pop-Up Cellar Door at the Gibbston Tavern into a permanent destination, creating a unique tasting experience for wine lovers in the heart of the renowned Gibbston sub-region.

Rockburn’s permanent Cellar Door offers boutique tastings of their award-winning wines in a unique, charming setting.

Situated on the historic site where the gold miners’ Gibbston Hotel proudly stood in 1867, guests are invited to enjoy a wide selection of drinks along with wood fired pizzas straight from the hand-crafted pizza oven.

“With one of our key vineyards only a few k’s away on Gibbston Back Road, it’s great to welcome visitors in the heart of the renowned Gibbston sub-region”, says Rebecca Poynter, General Manager of Rockburn Wines.

The Gibbston Tavern and Rockburn Cellar Door are adjacent to the Gibbston River Trail which links directly to the Queenstown Trails making it a handy stopover for travellers, bikers and walkers alike. Queenstown is only a 25-minute drive away just off SH6.

Private and boutique group tastings are available on request, with the Cellar Door catering for up to 12 guests at any one time.
