Sherwood Estate Wines have been producing exceptional wines from their Waipara vineyards in North Canterbury since 1987. Since then they have grown from a ‘one-man-band’ tiny family business to one of the largest independent, family owned wineries in New Zealand.
Jill and Dayne Sherwood still proudly manage all aspects of production. They retain complete control over the entire commercial process.
At Sherwood Estate Wines they grow, harvest, make, bottle, distribute, market and sell their wine throughout New Zealand, Australia and internationally.
This process makes them relatively unique in the New Zealand wine industry; they are proud of the personal involvement this brings to all aspects of the business.

Stoney Range, Sauvignon Blanc, Waipara Valley 2016
Pale lemon in the glass with green tinges. Vibrant with initial herbaceous grassy nose which softens into goosberry and tropicals once opened up a bit! Lots of crisp tropicals and citrus / limey acidity on the palate, juicy, gorgeously textured from a little barrel fermentation with a long dry finish.

Stoney Range Pinot Gris Waipara Valley 2016
Bright straw gold in colour with fragrant pear, stonefruit and ginger spice in the nose; more concentrated stonefruit & pear fruit flavours with a little spice on the palate, balanced, textured, lovely rich long finish…

Stoney Range, Riesling, Waipara Valley 2016
Bright lemon straw coloured, a floral nose with fragrant lemons & limes. Off dry and textured with a nice citrusy acidity and a hint of creaminess on the palate from extended lees contact, soft juicy moreish finish.

Stoney Range, Pinot Noir, Waipara Valley 2016
Light cherry red in colour, with dark berry fruit, plum and spice in the nose, more cherries & plums on the palate; a light bodied wine with appealing fruit flavours, softer tannins but acid / light oak not quite fully integrated yet still young needs another year or two?
