The Darling – NZ Wine Website of the Week

Chris Darling has worked with both large and small wine companies in Australia and throughout the world and Europe, including France, Greece and the Czech Republic. Chris worked with Hardy’s at their Houghton Winery in Western Australia before heading to Marlborough New Zealand to continue the hunt for great cool climate wines. Chris is currently Senior Winemaker for the jointly owned winery of Matua Valley and Babich Wines and now with this experience and skill is now directing his passion for wine into The Darling Wines.

Bart Arnst, after many adventures overseas, returned to New Zealand to embark on a new career path which now sees him consulting to the wine industry throughout the country. Bart has worked extensively in Marlborough, and while Viticulturist for Seresin Estate, confirming his belief that running vineyards organically/biodynamically is the future of grape growing. With his experience in growing grapes under conventional, organic and biodynamic regimes Bart believes this is the future for The Darling.

The Darling Wines are made by selecting and managing vineyards and sourcing organic grapes of high quality, to produce a number of different and interesting wines, that show vineyard expression and regionality. The range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Barrel Sauvignon Blanc, Moscato Inspired Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir.
