Some of New Zealand’s finest wineries make up the Family of Twelve and this winter they are offering a series of Winter Feasts from Auckland to Queenstown.

Family Chair Judy Finn of Neudorf Vineyard says the dinners are a celebration of kiwi excellence. And you’ve invited to join in. One wine from each family member will be served at each dinner.

“Each restaurant will serve 12 wines matched with hero dishes. Restaurants from eight regions include Rata, O’Connell Street Bistro, Noble Rot Wine Bar, Sidart, Malo, Hopgoods, Ussco, Arbour, The Tasting Shed, Capitol and Roots.

The Family of Twelve was established in 2005 and most of their work has been export focussed.

“We have worked together in London, Hong Kong, New York and Europe – pursuing the line of excellence and encouraging the promotion of fine wine from New Zealand. It’s exciting and this sort of co-operative work expressed a distinct Kiwi ethic as well as reducing our carbon footprint because one winery can pour for 3-4 other siblings from the Family.”

“This makes a unique story. For example this June Blair Walter from Felton Road is hosting a Family tasting in Tokyo for the Japanese Sommelier Association.”

It just makes sense!
