The Family of Twelve announces The Winter Feast Tour 2019

Brush away the winter blues with a memorable dinner alongside some of New Zealand’s best wines. It’s the Family of Twelve’s Winter Feast Tour 2019. We’re offering a series of feasts from Auckland to Queenstown. After the full-house success of our inaugural feasts in 2017 were thrilled to run a second series this winter.

Family of Twelve’s Winter Feast Tour 2019

Family Chair Paul Donaldson of Pegasus Bay says the dinners are a celebration of kiwi excellence and you’ve invited to join in. One special wine from each family member will be served at each dinner. “Each restaurant will serve 12 wines matched with hero dishes. Restaurants from eight regions include Hopgoods, Roots, Cocoro, True South Dining Room at The Rees Hotel, Ruth Pretty Cooking School, The Sugar Club, Arbour, Crawford Road Kitchen, O’Connell St Bistro, Union Square and Bistronomy.”

The Family of Twelve was established in 2005, we share a dedication to kiwi excellence in wine. Our twelve wineries represent eight regions and our work is export and education focussed. “We have worked together in London, Hong Kong, New York and Europe but more recently we’ve concentrated on our home base offering educational and dining events throughout New Zealand. We’re in the midst of planning our second annual Wine Tutorial, a unique event at which the Family pass on their knowledge to just twelve very fortunate members of the NZ and international wine trade.

“We’re really looking forward to sharing some specially chosen bottles from Family cellars over stimulating conversation and eclectic dishes with you this winter. What a brilliant way to spend a winter’s evening.” “With the wine and food worlds so intertwined we’re thrilled to work with a group of such dedicated restaurateurs and chefs; reaching out to share our work with wine lovers at some of our favourite eating places. We promise a fabulous experience, maybe we’ll even share a few Family secrets.”

The Family of XII

About The Family of Twelve:
Twelve exceptional New Zealand wineries, eight wine regions, celebrating fine wine and friendship Our members are scattered the length and breadth of New Zealand but we come together to celebrate our successes, share our stories and knowledge. We also share a desire to create extraordinary wine. We’re New Zealand’s wine family, The Family of Twelve.

Founded in 2005, our vision is to nurture long term relationships with an emphasis on education. Our wines are as diverse as the flora and fauna of New Zealand – and so are we. We all have different stories to tell but with similar threads running through them – of traveling the world,  pioneering something new and letting the land speak for itself to help deliver the very best of what wine can be. Some family trees have legacies reaching through the centuries. Many are nuclear. A few are royal. Not this one – far from conventional, this is a family of wine families.
