‘Wine Competition Ltd announces 2013 dates for New Zealand shows’

Planning is underway for the two New Zealand-based shows owned and managed by Wine Competition Ltd with the announcement of dates for their 2013 events.

The 2013 has been brought forward with judging being held 18 – 20 June while the Marlborough Wine Show will take place 23-24 October. Both events will be held in Marlborough.

Director, Belinda Jackson explains, “By bringing the international competition forward to a time when there are less shows will give it an added focus.” As regards the Marlborough Wine Show, Jackson says, “This event is about sub-regions and style diversity within Marlborough with the timing is set to coincide with the new vintage release.”

The Spiegelau International Wine Competition trophies will be announced at a dinner being held in central Auckland on 9 August and the Marlborough Wine Show celebration dinner and announcement of trophies will be held on 9 November at the Marlborough Convention Centre.

Wine Competition Ltd is the only 100% independent company that focuses exclusively on running shows. In addition, it is the only competition organiser that auctions bottles of wine not required during the judging process and returns proceeds to the industry via a Trust set up specifically for the purpose.
