Welcome to Trevor and Deanne, the new vineyard owners at Villas & Vines Glamping which is well located in the Clive area, close to Hastings, Havelock North, and Napier. A change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Wellington, brought them to Hawke’s Bay to relax and enjoy life in an idyllic setting on their vineyard, where they work collectively & collaborate with Maxim Wines.
As luck would have it, they found this vineyard for sale whilst up for a weekend visiting friends and looking for small lifestyle block, and it didn’t take long before they became the proud owners of this beautiful 5 Hectare vineyard block. After lots of planning, sharing ideas with friends, they are excited to share this beautiful spot with their guests.
STAY
Villas & Vines are just a short drive from the local wineries or better still, bike through the rear of vineyard to access the famous Hawke’s Bay cycle trails. The Glamping tents are 38 sq mtrs with a large extended roof providing a large patio area to relax. They have 2 tents available with configuration to accommodate up to 2-4 people in one tent, and 2-6 in the other.
This provides great options from a romantic getaway for 2 or group bookings, being ideal for family catch ups, girl’s weekends, The Mission concerts, and many other events the Hawke’s Bay has to offer. Both tents have a fully equipped kitchenette, Weber BBQ, WIFI, and offers comfortable beds, and outdoor seating for lounging, with a modern bathroom at the rear of the tent.
The large decks are perfect for taking in the serene view of the vineyard, and enjoying your morning coffee, evening wine and cheese, while soaking up the gorgeous vista of the Hawke’s Bay sunsets and mountain ranges during the day. This is a working vineyard so at times there is maintenance going on, with the use of organic spraying and at the peak of summer your visit may be at a time when the harvesting is in action. EAT & DRINK
Villas & Vines Glamping has a kitchenette for self catering stays. They do offer milk, butter, spreads, a selection of teas, and plunger coffee. There is also a Nespresso machine for good coffee. Pots and pans, cutlery, and crockery are available, should you wish to rustle up other meals during your stay using the BBQ, microwave, or electric hotplate.
The Villas are not far from the local Clive pub for great burgers and pizza, or you can venture into either Hastings, Havelock, or Napier for many options of well-respected restaurants, but you may need to book before you arrive at the Bay. These areas also provide supermarkets to cater for your stay.
VISIT LOCAL
Take a short drive or cycle to the local coffee stops at the “Haumoana Coffee” or sit down at the beach with a coffee and pastries from “Brown Dog Espresso”. Hygee at Clifton Bay is also a great spot for Brunch/Lunches to absorb the sunny days by the beach and check out their summer calendar for the live music. On your way to check out the shopping in Havelock North, make a stop at the “The Figgery” Café and shop for great food and service. Or drive or bike to the popular local vineyards for wine tastings or lunch.
Nearby Wineries include Askerne Estate Winery · Elephant Hill · Clearview Estate Winery & Restaurant and Te Awanga Estate to name a few. Another go to popular with visitors is the Sunday “Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Markets, which is located just minutes from the vineyard in the Hastings showgrounds.
