What’s Our Point Of Difference?

We are the only competition to award regional wine medals!

It is our mission to celebrate our country’s regional uniqueness! We do this through awarding wine medals for not only varietal excellence, but also for regional excellence. We want consumers to see your wine on the shelf or online and recognize that it has been awarded not only a gold medal, but also a regional medal for being judged as the highest scoring wine across all varietals in your region!

How Does It Work?

The ARWC & the RCC are judged under the internationally recognised 100-point system. Wines assessed at 95 points or more will receive a Gold Medal, 90 to 94 points will be awarded a Silver Medal and 85 to 89 points will be awarded a Bronze Medal.

If you enter in the RCC you will be awarded an additional ‘regional medal’ if you are the highest scoring wine in that region. For example if a Marlborough Pinot Nior is awarded a score of 96 & a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is awarded a score of 95 the 96 rated Marlborough Pinot Nior will be awarded the Regional Wine Medal, as it’s the highest scoring wine in that region.
We have a list of 17 regions you can be champion of. Choose your region on our entry form at www.wine.theshow.co.nz

Don’t meet the entry requirement to be entered in the RCC? Not a problem! You can still win our best in class, gold, silver & bronze medals by just entering the ARWC!
