Crafted Events Ltd. has announced that The New Zealand Boutique Wine Festival is set to be re-launched as Craft’d Wine + Spirits Festival, New Zealand’s only festival dedicated to small production, owner operated wineries and distilleries. The events company has also created the Craft’d Beer Festival, which will feature only local craft beer brands to be held at Shed 10 in September this year.

Owner and organiser, Sue Duncan says her vision to ‘celebrate independents’ is inspired by the incredible quality of emerging alcohol brands in New Zealand. She explains: “There are 697 wineries in New Zealand and 603 of them are small production – producing some of the country’s finest wines. Likewise, there is a proliferation of exceptional new distilleries and breweries. There are around 200 craft beer brands offering up really exciting and unique tastes like watermelon and guava beer.”

A small business owner herself, Sue believes in looking after the underdogs. “Craft’d Festivals are the first organised events to only support independent brands. Our mission is to help these small companies to grow their fortunes, and in doing so we have delivered an experiential event that provides the opportunity for guests to taste unique brands they may have never tried or even heard of. It’s a win-win.”

In addition to the two festivals, the brands will be supported on the Craft’d website, which provides a digital space for them to share their story and for readers to discover new products.

Craft’d Wine +Spirits Festival: Sunday, 21 July 2019, Grid AKL, 12 Madden Street, Wynyard Quarter.
