Craggy Range has been named in the 31st annual Wine & Spirits magazine top 100 wineries from around the world.
The list honors wines that delivered the best overall performances in Wine & Spirits magazine tastings throughout the year.
Craggy Range is the only New Zealand winery to make the 2017 list, joining iconic producers from around the globe, such as Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, Duckhorn, Champalou, Louis Roederer, Henri Bouillot, Bergstrom, Stags Leap, Krug, Louis Jadot, Ridge, and Penfolds.
Craggy Range Chief Winemaker, Matt Stafford commented: “when individual wines receive accolades we are flattered. When our entire collection of wines is rewarded, we feel an immense amount of pride. It only strengthens our drive to be consistently considered one of the world’s best.”
Wine & Spirits is one of the most influential publications in the US, read by over 200,000 members of America’s wine community and reviews over 13,000 wines each year.
Nestled in the shadow of the spectacular Te Mata Peak in Hawke’s Bay is where you will find Craggy Range. The winery was established in 1997 and was the first in the Southern Hemisphere to be based on a single vineyard philosophy, making wines from multiple regions where grape varieties are keenly matched to place. The grapes are grown in winery-owned vineyards in Hawke’s Bay, Martinborough and Marlborough – sites selected for their special soils and climates..
