The dates have now been set for New Zealand’s largest wine judging competition. Now in its 21st year the New Zealand International Wine Show continues to deliver more medals for New Zealand wines than any other competition in the country.

In the 2024 New Zealand International Wine Show event, the judges – with more years of judging experience than any other judging team in the country, awarded New Zealand’s wines 36 Double Gold Medals and 152 Gold Medals.
Unique to the New Zealand International is the 7 persons recall judging system. This process provides all the high scoring wines in the initial judging line up to be reconsidered & rated by the 7 senior judges which include the Chief Judge & Associate Chief Judges. High quality wines get at least two opportunities to impress the judges.
There may never have been a more challenging year for the wine industry – gold medals are going to be precious. The large number of entries this competition receives each year is a clear indication of the respect wineries have for seriously judged wine competitions.
