Domaine Thomson Wines Launches Unique Cellar Door Experience.
The opening of the much-anticipated Domaine Thomson Wines cellar door reflects the increasingly high standard of facilities being achieved by the Central Otago wine industry.
The purpose built, architecturally designed cellar door at the company’s vineyard in Pisa, is recognised as a significant addition to the Queenstown and Central Otago wine tourism portfolio.
Owners David and PM Hall-Jones are excited about showcasing the bio-dynamically managed Pinot Noir vineyard and their range of Domaine Thomson wines to the public.
“Our historically inspired new facilities will not only offer a quintessential Central Otago wine experience for our visitors” says David “but also allow us to introduce our exceptional French wines produced from our vines in Burgundy.
The cellar door complex provides a magnificent platform to highlight the intimate family connection we have with the prominent explorer, artist and surveyor John Turnbull Thomson, with many of his fascinating maps, sketches and paintings being housed and displayed here.”
A selection of several Central Otago and French wines produced by Domaine Thomson will be available for tasting daily and manager Kate Barnett says she and the cellar door team look forward to welcoming local wine enthusiasts, self-drive wine tourists and bespoke wine tours from around the region.

Domaine Thomson Wines cellar door is situated at 46 Clark Road, opposite the Pisa Moorings turn off, 12 kilometres north of Cromwell on the Wanaka highway.
Open daily 11.00am until 5.00pm.
