As we celebrate Sauvignon Blanc across the world, I’d like to share with you a dozen of favourite Savvies that I have reviewed over the last 12 months.

Which one should I choose?

I love Sauvignon Blanc, from the pungent herbal, capsicum and armpit, to the riper juicy and tropical, to the barrel and wild fermented savvies – if they have been well made, I love them all.

There is so much diversity in styles of Sauvignon Blanc produced across the regions, the influences from the different terroir, the viticulture / winemaking techniques, that every now one I taste is a whole new experience – no two are alike.

Sauvignon Blanc is by far the most planted grape variety in New Zealand making up 73% of total production and 86% of wine exports, as seen in the image below.

Sunday Sip… My first ever taste of Sarah Jessca Parker's Sauvignon Blanc – was very pleasantly surprised. Invivo "SJP X" Sauvignon Blanc 2019 Marlborough NZ Bright, very pale straw coloured in the glass. Fresh sweet nose of ripe tropical fruit & zingy citrus / grapefruity notes. Medium body / viscocity, and wonderfully balanced / integrated on the palate – there's a hint of subtle oak texture & creamy lees influence softening the acidity and providing a smooth, mouthfilling wine with a medium finish. Excellent Blending Sarah! Love it!
