This year’s event will be held on Saturday 19th September.  All going to plan it will be back in the heart of Hastings at the newly refurbished Toitoi – Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events Centre, whom we are working closely with to ensure the safety of our staff, and guests, as this is our greatest priority.  Toitoi – Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events Centre have a ‘Reducing Risk of Infection Plan’ and ‘Pandemic Response Management Plan’, and we are monitoring the directives from the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board and Ministry of Health.

Hastings Mayor Sandra Hazlehurst says “it is incredibly exciting to have the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction back in Functions on Hastings at Toitoi – Hawke’s Bay Arts and Events Centre.”  “Our community will have many fantastic memories of attending the wine auction in the former Plaza and we welcome them back to Toitoi with big open arms for its 29th auction.”  “We encourage everyone to give generously at this event, which is a wonderful fundraiser for Cranford Hospice.”

General Manager, Elisha Milmine says, “the annual Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction is held to raise much needed funds for Cranford Hospice, we do have a contingency plan for the event on the same date should it be required.”  “We are monitoring the unprecedented and rapidly evolving situation surrounding COVID-19. At this stage plans are proceeding, we will make an announcement if anything changes.”

“we are absolutely delighted to announce that this year the very talented Anna Jepson, will be the 2020 Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction Feature Artist.” says Milmine.

Anna Jepson is a contemporary artist, born and bred in Hawke’s Bay. She has been painting for well over two decades, initially inspired by attending art classes and completing a Fine Arts Diploma in painting and drawing in 2002.

Anna’s forms are often classical, set into an abstracted background rendering a sense of harmony, whilst capturing a relationship of space and light.

Anna Jepson says, “I am delighted to be selected as the 2020 Hawke’s Bay Wine Artist and look forward to designing and creating a painting that is fitting and reflective of this special event and our beautiful region.” “working along-side these passionate and generous people who unselfishly create this incredible event each year is an honour, as is being able to give back and create a piece of artwork with proceeds to Cranford, most of us have been touched by their support and strength when faced with the loss of a loved one.”
