Here is a quick breakdown of the Kiwi success at San Francisco International Wine Competition 2016 which were recently announced.
A special shout out to Seifried Estate on their two Best In Show awards and our heartfelt congratulations to all medal winners!
MEDALS
There were a total of 189 medals awarded to New Zealand Wines; 2 x Best in Show, 4 x Double Gold, 25 x Gold, 86 x Silver and 72 x Bronze.
VARIETIES
Top varieties were Sauvignon Blanc 70, Pinot Noir 66, Chardonnay 14 and Pinot Gris 11 medals each
Riesling came in with 7 medals, with Syrah and Sparkling both awarded 5 medals each.
Sauvignon Gris,Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot were awards 3 medals each with Rosé awarded 2.
Gewurztraminer, Viognier, Albarino, Late Harvests Riesling Bordeaux blends, Pinotage and Chambourcin were all awarded 1 medal each.
