Known Unknown Opening New Wine Bar in New Plymouth

In just three short weeks, the team behind New Plymouth-based urban winery Known Unknown are opening their new wine bar, House Wine, New Plymouth’s friendly neighbourhood wine bar.

House Wine Pledge Me Known Unknown

House Wine will serve as a cellar door for Known Unknown, featuring wines from its urban winery and will offer a focused wine list including organic wines from New Zealand and around the world. Owner and winemaker Jules van Costello says, “Now that Known Unknown is exclusively working with organic grapes, it just makes sense to extend that philosophy to our wine list… we even have organic Cognac!”

The wine bar will also have a small range of craft beer, a comprehensive cider list and a menu of small bites to eat, showcasing local produce.

van Costello explains “We get asked ‘Can I have a glass of wine?’ all the time at Known Unknown. Because our current urban winery set up doesn’t allow this, we’re opening House Wine to let our guests enjoy our wine in a fun, welcoming environment.”
