‘Entries now open for New Zealand’s fourth annual Marlborough Wine Show’

The Marlborough Wine Show was established in 2011 to demonstrate the significant sub-regional and style diversity of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc as well as showcase the region’s other grape varieties and respective wine styles.

Under the leadership of Chair of Judges, Jeff Clarke, the event will review and assess entries using three panels of highly experienced judges to provide a relevant, credible platform for Marlborough producers to promote their wines.

The 2014 Marlborough Wine Show International Judge, sponsored by Wine Marlborough, is Jeremy Stockman, General Manager of Watson’s Wine, Hong Kong. Jeremy began his career in the wine industry in 1992 working in London and Australia prior to joining Watson’s Wine in 2010 as Trading Manager and since March of this year, General Manager. Watson’s lists over 2,000 wines as well as offering a Fine Wine Room in each store containing over 300 different wines from top Bordeaux to emerging New World classics from around the world.

Joining Jeff Clarke and Jeremy on the judging panel will be Jane Skilton MW, wine educator, Simon Nunns, Chief Winemaker for Coopers Creek and wine consultant Jim Harre.

The Marlborough Wine Show will again celebrate the Marlborough Museum Legacy Award. This was won last year by Johanneshof Cellars Gewurztraminer and will be awarded to the producer with the highest scores for three vintages of a given wine within a ten year period.

The gold medal certificates will be presented and the trophies announced at a special dinner on 8 November, to celebrate the Marlborough wine industry. Also being announced that night, the Wine Marlborough Lifetime Achievement Award.
