The South Island Wine & Food Festival is a celebration of the South Island’s position as one of the leading wine-producing areas of the world. Join over 40 leading wineries from North Canterbury, Central Otago, Waipara, Nelson and Marlborough on Saturday 5 December in Hagley Park. 

With so many wineries to choose from, you will be able to find nearly every major varietal at the festival. Sip and savour a diverse selection of wines, discover new flavours and maybe find your new top drop. Brush up on your wine lingo with the winemakers as you enjoy their delicious tipple. 

North Canterbury, renowned for its extensive plains and rolling hills, its mineral-rich gravels and limestone, is home to more than 90 wineries and vineyards.  With vineyards producing an extremely wide range of varietals, North Canterbury is a region that caters to a diverse range of wine lovers. 

Regarded as the premier winemaking region in New Zealand, you won’t have to go far to find an incredible Marlborough wine at this year’s Festival.  A name synonymous with the Sauvignon Blanc varietal, Marlborough is bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the East, set upon expansive plains and flanked by towering mountain ranges to the North and South.
