I’ve visited their property several times and it never ceased to amaze me – a stunning place to live and grow organically certified Pinot Noir – I have tasted quite a few vintages of the Tussock Hill Pinot Noir and it always impressed me – the 2010 Tussock Hill Pinot Noir was awarded a Silver Medal at the Canterbury Wine Awards.
At 240 meters above sea level they are beyond the frost line and are on a sun-drenched, west facing hill slope. The clay soils of volcanic origin have a variety of minerals and trace elements present and these give the wines some characteristics not found elsewhere in the Canterbury region.
