Founder and winemaker David Clouston spent three vintages on the French island of Corsica. There he became passionate about producing rosé and today his Two Rivers Isle of Beauty Rosé, named as a tribute to the island of Corsica, is championing rosés around the world.
Isle of Beauty Rosé is Mediterranean in style but uses Marlborough’s fruit-driven grapes. David’s bold approach to making rosé uses many varieties from grapes grown on plots dedicated to serious rosé production. This makes for a distinctive, dry, vibrant, salmon-coloured rosé for which Two Rivers is celebrated.
We’ve never been more excited to show off our Two Rivers Isle of Beauty Rosé. “2020 was the best vintage we’ve seen at Two Rivers in over a decade”, said David Clouston.
Two Rivers Rosé is field blend of multiple red and white varieties. It’s ultra-elegant with fresh sea breeze aromas of Himalayan salt and green peppercorn, overlaying nuances of cranberry and Honeydew melon. The zesty palate exudes mandarin, white peach, grapefruit and blackcurrant with touches of spice and wet stone.
Harvest & Winemaking:
A prolonged Indian summer with cool nights, typical of Marlborough, led to expressive wines with great natural acidity. The season produced pristine fruit with beautifully ripe flavours. Treated as a white wine in the winery this rosé was pressed off skins early, fermented cold and then aged for 10 weeks in stainless steel and concrete egg tanks to accentuate complexity and minerality.
Pale salmon in colour, this Mediterranean style rosé is savoury with fresh sea breeze aromas of Himalayan salt and green peppercorn, overlaying nuances of cranberry and Honeydew melon. The zesty palate exudes mandarin, white peach, grapefruit and blackcurrant with touches of spice and wet stone. This elegant rosé is perfectly poised with grainy tension, delivering a briny fresh, vibrant and dry finish.
