The Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction is delighted to announce that WineWorks, New Zealand’s largest provider of wine bottling and storage services, has renewed its commitment as Principal Sponsor for a further three years.
This renewed partnership continues their valued support of the event — an association spanning over a decade — through the 2025, 2026, and 2027 auctions.

WineWorks, with facilities in Hawke’s Bay, Auckland, and Marlborough, plays a crucial role in New Zealand’s wine industry, providing essential services to winemakers across the country. Peter Cowley, Chairman of the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction, expressed gratitude for WineWorks’ continued support.
“WineWorks are an integral part of the Hawke’s Bay wine industry. They have deep ties to the Hawke’s Bay community and have been generously giving back through multiple channels for many, many years. Their support has played a significant role in the success of the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction, and we are incredibly grateful that they will continue to be involved in the years ahead.”
All proceeds from the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction go directly to Cranford Hospice, and this year’s event is expected to push total funds raised beyond $5 million since it first began in 1992. WineWorks Director, Tim Nowell-Usticke, emphasised the importance of supporting the event and its cause.
“Cranford Hospice provides an immensely valuable service to our community, our winemakers and our own team, and we are proud to play a role in fundraising efforts to support them. The Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction is a fantastic celebration of our region’s premium wines and the talented winemakers who craft them, and we are delighted to continue backing this event” said Nowell-Usticke.
This year’s Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction will be held at Toi Toi Hawke’s Bay Arts and Event Centre on Saturday 13th September, with tickets set to go on sale early July. General Manager, Sam Kershaw, identified the support of local sponsors as key to the charity’s ambitions to continue growing the profile and success of the event.
“WineWorks has been an invaluable partner for more than a decade, and we are so excited to have their continued support. We are blessed to have a family of sponsors who are all committed to giving back to our community in such a meaningful way. Every cent raised at the auction goes to Cranford Hospice, which means the support of local and national businesses and Councils through our sponsorship programme is critical in covering our operating costs.
With our sponsors’ support, we will continue to raise significant funds for Cranford Hospice and showcase the exceptional wines of Hawke’s Bay to a national and international audience,” said Kershaw.
