Lawson’s Dry Hills, New Zealand’s most sustainably certified wine producer, brings domestic distribution back in-house and celebrates B Corp Certification.
In time for the release of their 2024 wines, Lawson’s Dry Hills is delighted to announce it is now B Corp™ Certified. This coincides with the company’s decision to bring its domestic distribution back in-house, from February.

With the vision to lead New Zealand in sustainable wine production, Director and General Manager, Sion Barnsley says, “As a B Corp, we now join a movement of businesses committed to transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities and the planet.” He continues, “Alongside our existing sustainability accreditations, becoming B Corp Certified continues to improve our business at every juncture.”
Andrew Davies, CEO of B Lab Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand says, “Congratulations to Lawson’s Dry Hills on achieving B Corp Certification, joining 170 leading businesses in Aotearoa New Zealand and now over 9000 B Corps worldwide. Meeting our high global standards is challenging, especially in industries with complex supply chains and manufacturing processes like winemaking. Lawson’s Dry Hills’s certification independently verifies their ongoing commitment to sustainable wine production, people, and the planet.”
The LDH team are excited about the excellent 2024 wines too. A relatively cool period of flowering meant that crop levels were low by historic standards. This was followed by a long, dry and sunny growing season with the grapes harvested in perfect condition. Winemaker, Marcus Wright comments, “This was our earliest ever harvest and perhaps our shortest as well – we’re excited by the purity and expression in the resulting wines.”
As the B Corp certification applies across the business, it includes all the company’s brands: Blind River, Inviniti, The Sisters and Mount Vernon as well as Lawson’s Dry Hills.
