Fromm Tasting at Decanta Tapas Bar

On Tuesday evening I had the pleasure of attending a tasting of Fromm Winery wines hosted by Decanta Tapas Bar in New Plymouth, with a great turnout of about 40 folk – well within Covid guidelines.

Due to other commitments I hadn’t been able to attend the Tuesday tastings for quite a while so great to be back!

As usual delicious tapas were paired with some of the wines – a huge thank you to John and the Decanter team for as always hosting a well organised and brilliant tasting.

Stephan Walliser, Fromm General Manager presented 10 wonderful wines from their portfolio for us to try, gave a little history about himself and the Fromm family and also about the organic and sustainable practices they use to produce their very high quality wines.

Fromm’s Philosophy

“Fromm philosophy places terroir over technology, and grape quality over quantity. We are dedicated to producing intense, concentrated wines. All FROMM wines have an uncompromising emphasis on texture and drinkability. We carefully regulate crop size, follow organic principles and are committed to sustainable viticulture.” Fromm Winery Website

Their Vineyards

“Staying true to the roots of our European founder, we strive to make wines that reflect the vineyards in which the vines are grown. Since 1992 we have quietly developed a reputation for crafting distinctive single vineyard wines that genuinely illustrate our terroir.”

Organics & Dry Farming

“Fromm carefully regulate crop size, follow organic principles and are committed to sustainable viticulture, and are members of Bio Gro.
