Today is the 2023 Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction!!! The team are excited to raise as much as possible to gift to Cranford Hospice.
There are not many of us that can say we have had a great year so far here in Hawke’s Bay, but as I write this morning I am blown away with some of the records we are already beating.
A month ago at the Preview & Tasting event, the impromptu Auction of the beautiful Te Awa print by Josh Lancaster and a case of Te Awa wine generously donated, we raised $6,500 – 3 times the estimated value!
We have a record-breaking 55 lots in this year’s Auction – 40 Live today and 15 Silent that are currently running online https://app.galabid.com/hbwa/items As I write, these have already raised over $3,000!!!!
We have 52 Hawke’s Bay producers taking part this year, over 60 represented if we take into account those that are grouped in associations – that is well over half of our great winegrowers here in the region.
So now I ask you for one last push to make this a goodie. Like chain letters in the past, now is the time to share via e-mail, social media and even word of mouth, what his going on today & tomorrow. Share with friend, family, customers, suppliers, employers, employees, sports clubs, wine clubs……. and ask them to do the same – we want to go viral with a positive story out of our great region and raise much needed funds – illness does not stop for mother nature nor anything else.
