The vineyards, winery and business assets of Martinborough based DR Wines Limited are being offered for sale, either as a going concern or as individual assets, through Colliers.
Established by Dr Neil and Dawn McCallum in 1979 and now in the ownership of the Robertson family who own Kauri Cliffs, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers & Matakauri Lodge, Dry River is recognised as one of the leading super-premium wine brands in New Zealand. The company has had a long and distinguished history and its wines are revered around the world.
In addition to its exceptional brand, the company owns four attractive boutique scale vineyard properties with significant lifestyle appeal, all of which are situated along Martinborough’s Golden Mile just over one kilometre from Martinborough Square.
The properties range in size from 1.43 ha through to the 5.52 ha Dry River Estate, where the winery and winemakers house are located.
Mike Laven, Director of Rural & Agribusiness at Colliers, who is handling the sale said “This is a rare opportunity to purchase one of the leading super-premium wine brands in New Zealand with some very special vineyard property holdings – and with plenty of potential for growth”.
“We are seeking expressions of interest (non-binding best offers) for the Dry River business as a going concern but we are also inviting interested parties to submit expressions of interest for the individual properties, as it’s possible that the new owners of the business may not want to acquire all of the vineyards”
