NZ International Wine Show Entries Open

Entries are now open for the 2021 New Zealand International Wine Show

Celebrating its 17th year, the New Zealand International Wine Show has been the biggest wine competition in the country since its inception and with the majority of the entries coming from high quality vintages another record total of wines may confront the judges.

This year Chief Judge Bob Campbell MW will be assisted in his decision making by Assistant Chief Judges Larry McKenna, John Hancock and Tony Bish – three of New Zealand’s great winemakers. In total there will be 24 highly experienced senior judges.

Any wine from any country can be entered, there are no volume requirements, no sustainable requirements and the wine does not need to be on sale in New Zealand. Wines that have previously been entered into the competition can also be re-entered into the competition for further judging.

In previous years, gold medals have been awarded to wines from New Zealand, Australia, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Germany, Chile, South Africa, Turkey & the USA. In 2020 there were 304 gold medals awarded.

Medal stickers will be available immediately after the judging and as they are non-vintaged they are available on a continuing basis throughout the year.

The Conditions of Entry, Classes, Entry Forms etc, are all available on www.nziws.co.nz and we ask entrants to read all the relevant information.

Judging samples can be sent at any time from now – please do not wait for competition judging stickers as these are applied by our staff at the judging venue.

Samples should be clearly marked for the attention of :
