The estate grown OTU Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2021 was ranked the top wine in its category, and one of only three wines in the whole Sauvignon Blanc tasting to receive 98pts. Renowned winemaker Jeff Clarke was recently appointed Chief Winemaker in the latter half of 2019.

The OTU Estate is set at the edge of the Southern Ocean –  where the ancient Otu?whero River runs through the lower Awatere Valley, of Marlborough New Zealand. Stonier, drier, cooler and windier than Marlborough’s main valley, the Awatere’s hilly, rough coastal terrain conspires to produce distinctive, intensely vibrant wines on our OTU Estate.

Winestate Magazine is a leading consumer wine buying guide aimed squarely at those looking to buy wine for their home cellar, restaurant or for their wine store. The magazine has a circulation base of 25,000 with an estimated readership over 100,000. Its readers are influencers within their peer groups. Winestate is sold and distributed through newsagents and by subscription to readers across the globe, and through selected liquor retailers across Australia.

OTU Estate, which produces Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Rosé and Pinot Gris with Hawkes Bay Chardonnay and Merlot Rosé complimenting the range, is located directly south of Marlborough, in the Awatere Valley; the coolest and driest of Marlborough’s three sub-regions.

Situated at the edge of the ocean where exposed cliffs and untamed coastline meets the OTU Estate vineyard blocks, the growing season this far south is longer, with high sunshine hours and extended ripening, allowing for a perfect balance of intense flavour, delicious acidity and ideal ripeness at harvest.
