Al Brown and Friends Launch Wines to Celebrate and Support Aotearoa – Tipping Point Wines
Chef and Kiwi entrepreneur, Al Brown, has announced the launch of his first-ever wine range, Tipping Point, created alongside Constellation Brands to do good and taste great with each varietal supporting a different not-for-profit organisation in New Zealand.
“From day one this project has been about creating a wine that celebrates all of the things that are close to my heart – our regions, our land and bringing people we love together for a bite of something delicious to eat was down with a decent drop” – Al Brown.
Tipping Point wines support six organisations that are working hard to create a better future for New Zealand: The Bumble Bee Charitable Trust, Sea Cleaners, Kea Conservation Trust, The Hauraki Gulf Conservation Trust, Wilding Free Mackenzie and Te Tira Whakam?taki. Each cause is guaranteed to receive an upfront $10,000 donation to get the ball rolling.
This makes purchasing any of the six varietals, a Chardonnay, Rosé, Syrah from the Hawke’s Baya Field Blend and Methode Traditionnelle Bubbly from Marlborough a Pinot Noir from Central Otago a perfect way to give back while enjoying a delicious tipple.
“Most of us want to look after our environment and give back where we can so it’s pretty cool to know that every bottle of Tipping Point you purchase is going towards a good cause,” says Brown.
In addition to its charity alignment, Tipping Point has been crafted from the ground up to embrace New Zealand’s genuine, no-fuss lifestyle. From being on board and helping with each vintage this year, to the distinctive bottle shape and convivial labels, Al Brown’s love for informality shines through every aspect.
“There is a strange formality around drinking wine and selecting the perfect bottle. I wanted to remove this completely from Tipping Point. Anyone can drink these wines, any time. At the end of the day, it’s just that, a very drinkable drop and each varietal fits well with our relaxed Kiwi spirit.”
Like any good idea, Tipping Point started as a conversation between Al Brown and his wine-making friends earlier this year and evolved into a range of delicious New Zealand wines that champion what is most important to our country.
Rowan Dean, Vice President of Marketing & Growth at Constellation Brands, adds, “We are incredibly proud to have worked alongside Al to craft this range of wines that don’t just taste good, but does good too. When you combine Al’s experience and core values with a group of like-minded winemakers, you get something quite special. We’re looking forward to sharing it with New Zealand.”
Tipping Point wines are available from leading bottle shops and supermarkets across New Zealand, with an RRP of $24.99 for the Chardonnay, Rose, Field Blend and Bubbly and $34.99 for the Pinot Noir and Syrah.
